OME Urethane Suspension Bushes

Complementing the OME shock absorbers and springs, OME's own unique, state of the art ethylene-impregnated polyurethane suspension bushes are integral components of the fully integrated suspension kits (ordered separately). These long-life, hard-wearing, low-friction bushes exhibit improved physical and mechanical properties and an increased resistance to environmental conditions. When combined with an appropriate and compatible high-tech grease, such as "Emu Slippery", an even greater service life can be expected.

Made of the finest available material and to exacting design requirements and tolerances, the unique splined design of the bushes guarantees the best available fit, whether for Old Man Emu or original equipment springs. The shoulder and machined bush flange provide, respectively, added protection against dirt ingress and an even shackle bearing surface.

STEERING GEOMETRY

When a vehicle is lifted to achieve greater suspension travel, two very significant changes occur beneath the vehicle. Firstly, the driveline angle changes, as does the relationship between the flanges on the differential and the transfer case. If this change is too great, then driveline vibration and accelerated component wear will occur.

Secondly (and especially on coil-sprung vehicles), lifting the vehicle causes the front axle to rotate, which affects caster and camber angles - if the change is too great, the steering and handling will be adversely affected. OME's engineers are very much aware of these potential problems and take great care to ensure that lift is confined within safe limits.
